I've been working on that Yarn lovers Goodie Basket ...... and so far heading its direction are:

- a Hank of Birthday suit Vintage Purls Sock Yarn - hand dyed on request

- Set of hand made Stitch Markers

- Stitch Marker & Bits Holder ... my new design!!

- and chocolate .. all good prizes come with chocolate

Finally released to the wild ...... Easy Kids Hand Warmers

Yes, after extensive testing and edits I have produced my first knitting pattern!

Easy Kids Hand Warmers

It's blurb:

This is a quick basic knit pattern to fit 1 - 5 year olds and can be easily adapted to ones uniqueness with addition of different colour yarns, cables, increasing ribbing / stocking stitch length, embellishments or addition of different stitches. It can either be knit in the round or flat then seamed and what better way to use up extra bits of yarn, or keep the kids that extra bit warm in winter.

To mark its release and the relaunch of Sams Snippets, i'm running a wee competition:

- Knit a pair of Easy Kids Hand Warmers by 1st June 2010

- Upload to Ravelry with "Entering Sams Snippets Competition" in the project details

- Winner will be chosen by the design team based on uniqueness and over all style

So i printed out the comments (un named) and passed to hubby he read and read with comments like ''5 cats - shes mad" and "why reskien a skein just because you've dyed it" followed by "If knitting's so popular why do you only have 6 entries" ..... January Giveaway - Swift Sack

Mail Call - More prizes!

just quickly - Yes that's right my box filled with more goodness while we were out today the pics speak for themselves but thanks sooooo much Stumptious!! for your blogtober giveaway.

i got:

• Some Lovely Crochet Patterns
• A wee Piggy
• Lovely Fabric - some trains and pink Floral
• 2 PEZ holders and candy (i loved these when i was a kid)
• and of course the wrist warmers - which Emma has snaffled for the moment (i went to find the camera and came in to that Sweet sit)

And the other day my lovely Honey Products arrived from Blendy: --- can't wait for the full yarn sampler box



Today was also the Hawera Show - Emma's first and she loved it - rode on the merry go round, the planes, slide and the bumber cars (lucky thing) ... then we spent an hour watching tractor pulls and she scoffed a bag of candy floss that she got from the clowns

How luck am i! ... its was sent across the island from Tiny Lovely as i was the lucky winner of the blogtober giveaway.

Spinning addiction

yip I'm starting to be consumed by the bug!

These are my recent purchases to 'play' with - watch this space for whats created - i can't promise anything apart from a lot of fun in the process!

I also learnt about fleece last night at spinning and have a few available for playing with as well - pitty there aren't more hours in the day!

- I can spin! .. yes i have completed the mandatory 2 bobbins and learnt how to ply them together in 24 hours since learning! - and its not too bad looking if i don't say so myself :) - looks better in person (huge thanks to Kate and Hannah for abandoning your DH's to come over tonight :) )


- due to popular demand - i will start brag book tutorials for you all :)

So today i spent scrapping - well after spending an hour or two finding my desk!

- DH now has electricity in his workshop (so i guess i may start to see less of him when hes home)
- Beca is Loving solids / can now roll both ways and maneuver all over the floor (and in her cot)
- Emma had a friend over this morning which she thought was great - but bed time tonight wasn't so great - poor wee girl a touch overtired I'm thinking and all she wanted was kisses and cuddles

There's been a slight transformation here today @ Sam's Snippets

Yes ... I've spent the afternoon learning about HTML and how to change it to what i want - well almost i still can't figure out how to stretch the background i made to the whole page - no biggy though.

So needless to say how pleased i am that instead of the skinny news bulletin we now have a fatter column i can fit more in (so you don't have to scroll as far to hit the bottom either ... and if you do scroll down you'll find a new Quote of the month also added today.

As for the week ahead i plan to finish the Brag book that will be given away to one of my lucky followers at the end of the month (so there's still time to get in to win) - Remember to check back in to see if you've won and of course to see what crafty business I've been up to. This week will also see the reveal of the Naki 'Kiwiana' Yarn Swap! i can't wait to see all the yarny goodness the group has been creating! I also need to get on to creating for my next TNN yarn swap - this time though i can't share much at all on the journey sorry (i may have to later next month if I'm just busting with excitement!)

any who with such a crafty week ahead and another day off tomorrow i should get some sleep.

... gosh that was quick!

I've hit 150 blogtober hits and have no Bragbook asyet to giveaway!

Blogtober Confession #1

OK so i missed a day already in Blogtober ...

the night just slipped away on me ... As Tuesday night is Knitting night and it was at mine last night, Mark had his first night shift on the Maze Planter, the final of Outrageous Fortune was on and of course i couldn't put my needles down - no excuses just what happened.

So anyway moving on from there .... I've decided that I'm going to run a wee competition during Blogtoberfest .... not too sure what it may include yet but it will be some type of crafty goodness to send out to someone .. off to surf some blogs and fill my head with new ideas - I'll be back to post again later.
